The more I learn about the latest version Easy Video Suite (EVS), the more astonished I am by its comprehensiveness and ease-of-use. And although EVS is primarily for internet video marketing, I keep seeing many opportunities for corporate video production and real estate video marketing. But in this post, let’s look at some of the more amazing features first…

Drag & Drop

I don’t like long lists of filenames so the visual drag and drop functionality is incredibly useful and a serious time-saver! Check out the video here.

New Pages Feature

This as available in previous versions but the New Page feature is head and shoulders above what was already pretty cool. It is just drag-and-drop simple to add Facebook comments, add a Like button, add html, change the page name, whatever. I couldn’t help but thinking, “I don’t need a page creation tool anymore.” Need to change the look of the entire site? One click. That’s all. Might not even need hosting for some things since it is up on Amazon S3.

A/B Testing (Split Testing)

OK, this is where EVS gets really smart, really fast. You never know exactly what is going to work and, truth be told, we are usually surprised by what works an what doesn’t so there exists an urgency to get to the most optimal presentation quickly and easily. EVS shines here.

Creating a Split Test (sometimes called n A/B Test or a Champion/Challenger Test) is as easy as selecting “split test” and selecting the different videos (or different viewing order), name the test and you are done. Easy Video Suite runs the test and then…automatically calculates which version is performing better and then just runs the champion automatically! Pretty close to “set it and forget it” optimization, your highest converting video always plays. If you are a video producer, you’ll love this feature and if you do any kind of internet marketing where you are responsible for conversion, you will love it more.

Timed Events

OK, This one I really, really like and here is why. When people are watching our videos they are also looking at he page around it. A very, very effective technique is to create timed events in and around your videos to reinforce important points you want to really drive home. Remember “show and tell” when you were a kid? Well, yeah…it works!

Playlists

Creating video playlists (with drag and drop simplicity) are also incredibly powerful. Here’s why: We live in an “Attention Economy”…the most valuable thing we marketers ask from consumers is for their attention and it is increasingly difficult to get. You may have heard the term “fragmented media” in the news. What that is referring to is decades ago there were three major broadcasters, CBS, NBC, and ABC. In the United States, when you wanted to reach 97% of the population you just advertised on these three networks.

Well, those day are long gone. We are living in the times of “fragmented media” where your audience’s attention is at a great premium so when you DO get their attention you had better put it to good use because any media is only going to get single digit attention at best. Here is where Playlists come in.

In this world of fragmented media, using Playlists allows you to string several videos together so, if you DO get someone’s continued attention, you are able to continue your engagement with them beyond a single video. If they just watch the first video, great.

But with Playlists the selling process or education process has the ability to seamlessly continue…for as long as they are interested and engaged.
